Discover and Learn
A history revealed and a legacy shared.
Supporting Teachers and Students
Since opening in 1995, the museum has been engaging visitors with the story and legacy of the founders of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart; Mary Helen MacKillop [1842 – 1909], Australia’s first Saint and Fr Julian Edmund Tenison Woods [1832 -1889].
Through immersive and object-based experiences, Mary Mackillop Place Museum’s educational self- guided resources for primary students will help you and your students make the most of the museums content. The material is designed to spark curiosity and engage with historical stories and objects in a visit to the museum or online.
Faith based learning in support of the Catholic religious education curriculum is available with each activity to deepen a student’s personal journey in seeking out ways in which they can deepen their faith journey.
