School Visits
Mary MacKillop Place, a ministry of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart, is committed to establishing a safe environment and supportive relationships for all with whom we have contact. To access our Child Safeguarding Commitment Statement, Policy and Code of Conduct click here.
A visit to our Museum will provide students with a unique opportunity to learn about the life and times of St Mary MacKillop and Fr Julian Tenison Woods.
Please note: at this time all visits must be self-guided, visit our Discover and Learn page ‘At the Museum’ section for activity options for your school’s engagement experience here.
Engaging in a variety of media students will:
- Understand the contribution that Mary and Julian made in empowering the poor through education in colonial Australia.
- Understand the ongoing contribution of the Sisters of Saint Joseph to the growth and development of catholic education.
- Be able to identify and explain how the legacy of Mary MacKillop and Julian Tenison Woods lives on through the Sisters and their partners in ministry.
By organising a visit to our Museum Teachers will be able to meet the learning outcomes for students in the Religious Education and History Curricula.
